Genasys Announced A $1M International Order For LRAD-1000Xi-RT Systems To Aid Bird And Wildlife Preservation.

Genasys Inc. (NASDAQ:GNSS), the global leader in Protective Communications, today announced a $1.0 million international LRAD-RT order for bird and wildlife preservation. LRAD 1000Xi-RT systems will be integrated with DeTect, Inc. (DeTect) MERLIN™ avian radar systems for continuous monitoring, detecting, and deterring birds and wildlife from entering restricted areas.

"This is the first LRAD Reach Technology (RT) system's integration with avian radar," said Richard Danforth, Chief Executive Officer, Genasys Inc. "Our LRAD-RT systems feature advanced amplifiers that are significantly more power efficient, especially when used in off-grid operations that rely on batteries or gas-powered generators. The RT design includes enhanced thermal management, and protection features that automatically adjust output gain and filtering to prevent damage from overdriving, extending the overall life of the system in extreme temperature conditions."

David Schnell, Genasys' Vice President of Global Hardware Sales, added, "This order continues our 15-year partnership with DeTect of combining our industry-leading systems to protect wildlife. International mining operations and oil & gas companies have purchased hundreds of these systems to humanely detect and deter birds and wildlife from entering waste areas and landing on hazardous tailing ponds."

"Pyrotechnics, propane cannons, lasers, and repetitive sound deterrents have limited range and are less effective over time due to habituation. By projecting a near infinite variety of sounds, tones, and predator calls, LRAD-RT systems are superior to conventional dispersal techniques in preserving wildlife and protecting assets," added Mr. Schnell.

Unlike other audible wildlife deterrents that disperse sound in all directions, LRAD's proprietary technology focuses sound in a 30° beam. Rugged, reliable, and built to withstand harsh environments, LRAD-RT systems project sounds from close range out to 5,000 meters.
